Saigon Workers Resort

Monday 11 July 2011

We changed course, hotel a few days earlier and here are some pictures of how the house looks like from. So far I've written about our hotel, we switched from; Xinhua Cat and even our hotel we stayed at in Bangkok; Amari Residences Sukhumvit. All have been very different and it's fun to compare our different places during the trip.

For people who want to live cheaply in Ho Chi Minh City and has not been so great demands on living in downtown Saigon Workers Resort is an excellent choice. Neil hires mostly out room per month and also offer help in finding a job as an English teacher, so are you interested in an extended stay in Vietnam is Neil a good contact to have. Greets you from us, you can certainly get some discount on a room if you stay a few days. We paid 180.000 dong (≈ 57 SEK)per night including electricity and we think that was a really good price!

Thailandshopping – shoes!

I bought these shoes in a shop in Bangkok, I think they were really nice and the price was also super-, 204 Bath (≈ 45 kr) for the pink and 212 Bath (≈ 47 SEK) for the patterned. It was fortunate that I took a picture of them before we set out on our wet adventures of the pink was very very wet!

Now, unfortunately, only hours left until we leave the hotel so we thought you would be happy if you see a little how we have lived during our time in Bangkok.

We have stayed at a newly built hotel which opened in January 2011 so it was very fresh and nice!

We booked the first two nights through agoda.se that had nice pictures and a good description of the hotels. But the best part was, after all, reviews from past travelers.

The idea was that we would try a new hotel after the two nights but V died a little when he thought of moving all the stuff in over 30 degree heat. The hotel staff gave us a good price and V puffed out. :P

We are happy to recommend this hotel to be good service, is fairly centrally located and friendly staff.

The things we were prioritized; Free Internet, pool, room service and good communications. We think this hotel live up to our expectations and extra plus for the free bottled water each day and the staff was out to get clean our room at five o'clock instead of noon.

Located at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 2 and therefore the hotel offers free pick-up in the tuk-tuk at the intersection of Sukhumvit Rd. and drop-off when you are away from the hotel.

Asia – Stage 7: Jet-lag and the heat

We can us “bad” travelers.

We have suffered from the world's jet lag and get really tired of the heat. So most of what we have done in Thailand is sleeping. Sorry!

Here is the clock 15.30 0ch we woke up an hour ago after more than 12 hours sleep. Fully sick!

So most of what we've seen of Bangkok has taken place from the afternoon and the night.

Yesterday was the only thing scheduled, to pick up the shirt that V had to sew up for herself. We did not include a camera, because we would only do just that… but we had one of the best evenings. We found a very nice sidewalk restaurant near Patpong Night Market and ate like a king for about 100kr for two, including drinks. When we were home, skytrain trains stopped running so we decided to take a tuk-tuk. Haha, so amazingly funny! We were pretty far and we had managed to choose a crazy driver. He cruised between the cars and pulled in so we flew up and bounced up and down in their seats as he races over bumps on the road.

Today is our last day in Bangkok, imorgon tar till you flyget Ho Chi Minh City. Today's plans include hanging pool and visits to the MBK shopping center and packing… sigh.

Two slöisar with room service :P

Yesterday's Clothing

Realize this with blogging on the trip was not really my thing, it's like a dead fish when you come back at the hotel and then floor it on the bed. =)

A tribute to all who blogs at the same rate as at home on their journey!

Now let's go and have breakfast, at is 9:27 here.

Asia – Stage 5: On the way from Kiev to the airport

We managed to find a place to sleep and have both a night walk and a tour of the day.

In vain I tried to find postcards to send home, but they are only sold in 20pack and we did not find a mailbox or stamps. :)

Now here we checked on the airport's internet café and take in some food.

Update from Kiev will as soon as we get a chance to write in peace.

Asia – Stage 1: two time optimists will get to flying

So we were äntligen on väg…
The journey that we waited and longed for since the spring.

Our parents have been anxious and nervous in recent days and Mom said at breakfast this morning that the plane will not wait. A trip to Ica took a little too long, she thought, so for not having to worry about whether we have time to flying or not, so she decided to put us on the Arlanda Express. :)

So now we sit here and have the time any time. After we checked in, we will visit a kiosk and buy paperbacks for the flight.

Hotels-anxiety-Superior Deluxe

I looked around on some travel sites and began to compare homes and like a Hemnet-junkie, I have now been fixed in recent 8 hours just watching and selected hotels.

I still have not found one in my eyes perfect accommodation and I do not know if I will be able to do it either.

Just like when a little slow surfing around Hemnet and dream away to the apartments that have “all” and we marvel at how great the wine is expensive duplexes, just the craze has now hit me when I sit down and book hotel.

For ugly furniture, for bad review, no pool, for the small pool, the bad state (which I do not really have a clue), expensive internet, too expensive rooms, etc., etc.…

Before V fell asleep, I showed up the, according to me, best options, but then I got cold feet and could not decide anything… Now I'm inside of another well-stocked booking portal and are looking forward… less than 12 hours until we are sitting on the plane. :P

Better safe than sorry…

V was the infection clinic today and took an extra syringe against Hepatitis B as a blood test showed that his security was not enough…
I was a little worried because I could not with certainty say how many syringes I have previously… So I made a quick visit to infection clinic and took a blood test at lunch.

On Monday, I know if I am fully protected against hepatitis A and B. So nice to know for sure!
